What a week it's been! - 2005/04/07 00:29
So Terri Schiavo's body finally gave out and she passed on, hopefully if her spirit had been trapped in her mortal body she is now at rest. And just to make sure she didn't get too much of the limelight good old John Paul II upped and went to make sure she got in through the pearly gates.
But seriously, I hope their afterlives are as they expected. I can remember starting in grammer school 1979 and being sent to a mixed religion school; which for those days was a huge hooplah (in fact the Bishop of our diocese threatened to have us excommunicated for not being sent to Catholic school!); and the school making concessions for the Catholics to be allowed time off for the Pope's visit. It was a huge deal and one of my classmates actually got to go see the Pope.
It seems weird now that he is gone, I mean it's not like he actually meant that much to me, but I'm sure my very Catholic mother is praying very hard right now.
I think I'll just enjoy the warmth of the Spring sun and the beauty of the flowers starting to bloom and the gorgeous butterflies flitting through my yard and thank Mother Nature for not demanding that certain procedures are followed just for her.
Yeah the joys of being a Pagan.
